Sorting of metal

Redwave is a leading supplier of X-ray fluorescence (XRF)–based sorting machines. Their worldwide customer base ranges from family-owned shredding plants to multinational companies, all with a need for non-ferrous sorting solutions. Redwave continuously develops new metal sorting solutions based on customer requests and currently has more than 100 XRF machines in operation.

Metal separation can be used in e.g.:

ZORBA sortering - ReTec    ZORBA
(mix of non-Fe metals)
  • Separation for create ZEBRA and TWITCH
  • Removal of printed circuit boards

TWITCH sortering - ReTec   TWITCH
(diff. amount of aluminum)
  • 3-step sorting based on the copper and zinc content of the material stream
  • Removal of printed circuit boards
  • Removal of remaining heavy metals/impurities

IBA sortering - ReTec   IBA
(incinearated bottom ash)
  • Separation of heavy metals from aluminum
  • Sorting of heavy metals into high-purity products consisting of copper, brass, zinc, stainless steel, etc
  • Separation of brass and bronze
  • Separation of coins
  • Separation of gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and other valuable metals

ZEBRA sortering - ReTec   ZEBRA
(mix of heavy  non-Fe metals)
  • Sorting of heavy metals into high-purity products consisting of copper, brass, zinc, stainless steel, etc.
  • Separation of brass and bronze
  • Removal of printed circuit boards
  • Separation of coins
  • Separation of gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and other valuable metals

ZURIK sortering - ReTec   ZURIK
(eddy current drops, primarily stainless steel)
  • Removal of non-metals, insulated copper wires, and heavy metals to achieve a final product consisting of stainless steel with a high degree of purity
  • Sorting of stainless steel

BIRCH/CLIFF sortering - ReTec   BIRCH/CLIFF
(copper scrap)
  • Removal of impurities such as brass, bronze, and other metal types
  • Removal of specific and unwanted elements such as tin, silver, nickel, etc.

Redwave XRF Fine - for fine sorting of metals

Redwave has developed a new fine-sorting machine for non-ferrous metals in the 4–25 mm size range, known as the XRF Fine. With this newly developed machine, featuring several innovative solutions, it is possible to further increase efficiency and purity levels in metal sorting. This enables increased revenue through purer fractions as well as higher capacity and efficiency

If you need a more substantial solution than just one machine, the proces in a plant could look like this:

Metal sorting proces - ReTec

Separation and sorting of metals provide economic benefits, higher plant capacity, and high quality/purity in the final fractions. Redwave has developed several machines capable of sorting metals as well as the associated impurities.
